Therapeutic horseback riding is the use of horses and equine-assisted activities in order to achieve goals that enhance physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral and educational skills for people who have disabilities.

Our Mission

The Veteran Barn Door Project is committed to bringing balance and trust through Horsemanship training. Our mission is to provide the structure and the services through equine activities that can support the healing process for PTSD.

Veterans returning from war are committing suicide at an alarming rate. Many suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I know, I have PTSD, and I’ve experienced first hand the healing power of therapeutic horseback riding. No one has to go it alone, and I’m trying to do something about it and help my fellow veterans.
